Issues that Christians in American are Facing

*This is based off of my own in site into issues and not to spread an agenda*

  1. Abortion: I believe that abortion is wrong. Period. People say that every woman should have a choice, which I agree with, but the choice begins before conception. I do believe in NO sex before marriage and I also know that a lot of people will not agree so I do believe in PROTECTION. Now birth control I do use, but I wish there was a better option not only to avoid pregnancy but also to help with the menstruation cycle. I first got started on Birth Control because of my cramps being so strong, I would basically collapse to the ground (while at work) and it was because it was soooo painful! But anyways, I have never been prego but I have had the “issue” of possibly being prego in the past and from day one I chose to say no to abortion despite my age or reason.
  2. Refugees: In scripture we are told to welcome strangers into our homes, love they neighbors, do unto the least of these and you would want done to you etc and I completely agree. The issue comes from self preservation and greed. We want to protect the ones we love but we also have to follow God’s word/law. My husband and I have talked about this (like most people) and have kind of had to decide to not decide on our thoughts and decisions for this matter because we know what we should do as a Christians but it is scary and we are afraid to do what we must. It isn’t easy to be a Christian.
  3. Gay Marriage/Rights: I’m just gonna be short and sweet… the God says it’s wrong. God also says that not telling the truth and stealing and cheat and many other things are wrong also, and in Christian terms: sin. EVERYONE SINS! We, as Christians are called to love all people, but we don’t have to agree on everything with everyone. I have family members who are part of the GLBT community and I love then dearly! I don’t fully agree with them but I still love them and treat them with respect and understanding (to the best of my ability). And as far as I know they understand where I am coming from and all of them love me too. Everyone comes to terms with things in their own way but I choose to go down Jesus’s path and love, unconditionally! I am always there to lend an ear to someone if then need to talk but I don’t always say what they would want to hear just because of a difference in opinion/beliefs. Everyone deserves to be happy and loved, at the same time though, I feel like things can go too far. There are people who are trying to make everyone agree with this movement and resent changes in law but no one should be forced to like anything. Bakers getting sued for not agreeing with gay marriage is just wrong! People need to stop getting offend at everyone and everything and just calm down. Don’t force feed the “baby” because the “baby” will revolt! (I don’t mean baby in a bad way but its just something people say like don’t put baby in the corner’ and such.) Anyways, I think you get my point.

I love all of you and wish you the best, I’m sorry if this upset you, this was solely my opinions. Thank you.

Starbucks Cup

So by now I am sure that everyone has heard about this whole red cup issue and I want to weigh in on it.. like the rest of America. I too am a Christian, shocker, and I am not offended by this cup, double shocker. Why would I get upset over a cup being red when in the past it has had ornaments and snowmen on it and I wasn’t upset then either. When I think of Christmas, I think of Jesus in a manger, angelic choirs, wise men,and other religious things but I also think of non religious things. But wait, aren’t I a Christian? Shouldn’t I just focus on religious items and what-nots??? Nope! I think of seeing friends and family, presents, hot coco, Christmas trees all lit up, snow, Santa, freezing my butt off, reindeer, pageants, etc. I feel that all these elements just add to the joy, stress, whimsy, and thrill that brings the holiday season all together!

Ok so now that that is out of the way, I feel like Christians should focus on the important thins: family, friends, Jesus, God, charity, peace on earth, good will to men, love…. In stead on put the Christ in Christmas I say we should BE the Christ in Christmas!!!! We are called by God to reflect His love to all me and show them who He is and how wonderful life is with Him!!!

The Unknown, Just Tell The Truth

Growing up I attended several different churches and different Denominations. This has made me into who I am today and helps me understand God better than I might of if I had only attended one church. Oddly enough though I still cone across parts of scripture that I had never seen or heard before due to selective preaching. This had actually happened to me the past two Sundays in a row. Once church is over and my husband and I are headed home we like to discuss what we though about the sermon and if anything stood out to us and I have had to admit that I haven’t heard those passages before. (Don’t ask me which ones because I forgot to write them down lol.) What has happened is that I have been taught about the scripture after but not the whole story. I felt robed, I felt confused, I was wondering why that would happen but then I remembered that pastures tend to tailor their sermons to the specific message rather than then whole truth. That, in my opinion is sad. Due to this issue, Daniel and I have had the chance to talk even more about scripture, God, life, faith, family, etc and for that we are always grateful. Maybe God didn’t want me to hear that scripture until I was older so that way it would be more of an impact, who knows.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Isaiah 41:10  fear not, for I am with you;  be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you,  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 18:32-34  the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer  and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

John 6:47 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

1 Corinthians 2:7-9 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written,”What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

Philippians 1:21-23 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 4:7-8  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Psalm 136:26 Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Need A Change

As I have said in some of my past posts, I am wanting to have a happier leave on life and therefore better mine and my husband’s life together. One of the things that I have not been able to get a grasp on is the influence that others have on us. As a Christian I do believe in the power of words and even the belief that if you think positively then more positive things will happen just because you are looking for them or see them more easily, plus the power of God of course!

All throughout mine and Daniel’s relationship we have been told by many different voices how bad we are for each other and how nothing good can come from us being together. FYI I still take offense to this. Even after 2 years of us being married nothing but negativity surrounds us. Not because of anything we do or do not do specifically, but because we choose to do things differently than the onlookers would want us to do it. Yes, we do need help. Neither one of us know that much about cars or things of that matter so we reach  out for help in that matter, but there is a lot that we don’t ask help for. Here recently we have had a lot of car issues and therefore keeping my dad on the run, but it is just temporary and we are very grateful for the help.

What I am asking for and was hoping would happen on it’s own is that mine and my husband’s lives be filled with people who are going to support and love us. Giving advice is a good thing too but do it in a positive and loving way rather than anger, hate, emotion, fed up, etc because that is what makes people not want to listen to other or even be around others. Each generation, each person is different and each person’s options in life are different. Time changes so much in so many ways and there are only a few things that can and will be constant: Love, God, Hope, Grace, Etc. God can and will provide all our needs but we would like to have family and friends too. We can keep each other happy by ourselves if we need to but interaction with others would be very nice under the right conditions (being positive, supportive, and loving).

I am beyond blessed to have a loving husband and a family that is concerned for me, but I know that there is an overwhelming amount of negativity surrounding us and I am saying NO MORE! “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!” Philippians 4:13

God’s Not Dead

Okay so I’m a little bit late on the fad, but this move is really good! I have only seen it once and I am a Christian, therefor a little bias, but the movie does have a great story line with over laying characters in many different situations “coming together”. I agree that God is not dead and very much so has a huge impact on the world! I love Him so much and know that there is so much to Him that is there that impacts the world still today and impacts everyone on earth! I don’t like how in this movie like all other Christian movies I have seen how everything is perfect in the end, but the follow Disney in that matter. People don’t like to see a movie if there is too much loss, instead people want to be happy and see others happy too.

Just So Cute
