Long Ago

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Beth. Beth was a lover of music but especially of singing! She would sing all the time. She would sing in the shower, on the way to school, in class, at recess, on the way home from school, at church, in the grocery store, just anywhere and everywhere she ventured. As a little girl, Beth mainly only sang kids songs, of course. Some were Disney related and some were religious. There was one song, however, that Beth deemed to greatest of them all! Sadly when Beth got older the cassette that it was on became lost and none have been able to find the song since then. Since it was lost Beth “cleverly” came up with a name for it, “Jesus Knew What He Had To Do.” If anyone were to ever find this song he or she would be declared a hero and would live on in fame and great love, but alas that has yet to happen. The song went a little something like this:

Jesus knew what he had to do,
Go in the desert without any food,But when that old devil came to tempt him that day,
He knew what to say!

He said “NO, NO! It is written!
NO,NO!” That’s what the Bible does say,
“NO, NO! It is written!”
And he chased that devil away.

“Why not turn these stone to bread?
Come on jump off the temple, you wont hurt your head!”But when that old devil came to tempt him that way,
He knew what to say!

He said “NO, NO! It is written!
NO,NO!” That’s what the Bible does say,
“NO, NO! It is written!”
And he chased that devil away.

“I will give you everything you need,
If you’ll bow down and worship me!”But when that old devil came to tempt him that way,
He knew what to say!

He said “NO, NO! It is written!
NO,NO!” That’s what the Bible does say,
“NO, NO! It is written!”
And he chased that devil away.

So when that devil comes after you,
Jesus shows you what to do.And when that old devil tries to tempt you that way,
You’ll know what to say!

You’ll say “NO, NO! It is written!
NO, NO!” That’s what the Bible does say,
“NO, NO! Its is written!”
And you’ll chases that devil away.
